Post 6: English language challenges

When I joined the university, the English diagnostic test was one of my worst experiences. I remember that the website had collapsed, and time started running faster, I couldn't even read the questions. And I had no choice but to do all the English levels. But, despite everything, in the last year I have been able to learn a lot and make the most of it.   I think, in the university there should be a program that combines English classes with practical activities and trips. That should make the classes easier, fun, and motivational helping the students to feel comfortable learning and wish to continue to learn the language. Unfortunately, something completely different happens in English classes. To be honest, I love to write, but I never made a single effort to have anything published, as it was the writing process that liked. In the beginning, when I started blogging, I remember that I found it boring to write a new post on my blog. But over time, I found them more interest...

Post 5: Food

Imagen
There's nothing like being hungry and eating your favorite food. Well... my favorite food is... "empanadas".   They are made by folding dough over a filling, which may consist of meat, cheese, tomato, onions, tuna, chicken, or other ingredients, and you can cook them with oil (fry them) or put them into the oven. The beauty of empanadas is that they always taste good - it doesn’t matter if they are stuffed with chicken, vegetables, or cheese. An empanada is a thin crust stuffed with a salty or sweet preparation. The dough is made of corn or wheat flour.   I love empanadas. Mum used to make them with lots of chopped meat, fresh chopped white onions, and some spices. Her speciality was a soft dough and a steady oven.  Empanadas are not a healthy meal but there are ingredients and ways to prepare them that could make them less caloric. However, excess is bad.   What is fascinating and exciting about e...

Post 4: Changes to my study programme

Imagen
First of all, I am studying pedagogy in Early Childhood Education which consists of 10 semesters, i.e., five years. In each semester I have 5 to 6 classes per week, excluding external courses that are mandatory to the curriculum. The degree I am studying is being taught in the faculty of social sciences. In contrast with other universities, the education careers that are part of the University of Chile do not have their own entity but share with other careers in other disciplines. This is a favorable point for my career, because being in a faculty with careers related to the social sciences gives a different focus to the study programme. But at the same time this is a disadvantage because the resources are not primarily intended to improve my career. Because more importance is given to the other careers that have higher demand for students. Although, the faculty itself is old and quite precarious, it could be said that, within everything, we have a room of psychomotor quite equip...

Post 3: Movies and/or series that you would recommend

Imagen
Today, I'd like to talk briefly to you about one film or series that I recommend highly. Personally, my favorite free time activity is watching romantic movies while eating chocolate and being surrounded by the people I love. I think picking a movie or series that will appeal to a large group of people is a hard challenge. On this occasion, however, I’d like to tell you about a movie that changed my life. Me Before You is a romance novel written by Jojo Moyes that was published in 2012. In about four years later, Thea Sharrock directed a film based on that novel. The film stars Emilia Clarke, Sam Claflin, Janet McTeer, Charles Dance, and Brendan Coyle. How would you feel if you suddenly lost your job and all of your financial support but after several hours at the employment office, a job comes along that seems to be perfect for you? That is what happened to Louisa Clark (Emilia Clarke), the protagonist of this story. Lou is a resourceful, cheerful girl who has been wasting her...

Post 2: Best holidays ever

Imagen
Hi there! For me personally, deciding where and when to go on vacation is often the most difficult challenge, but on my last vacation I had a wonderful time. In December 2020, I went to Puyehue with my family for two weeks. We stayed in a small but very comfortable cottage located in a wooded area. I hope... someday I can buy a cottage and live there.   The scenery was beautiful, magnificent, and extremely inspiring under a wide horizon. One of the things I still remember is that at night the landscape was completely different. Almost always, the sky was full of perfectly aligned stars. We were always waiting anxiously for the moon to rise.  It was the perfect and ideal place to escape the stresses and strains of life. Before leaving, we hiked in the Puyehue National Park and explored part of the ecosystem. The most interesting thing about this place is that it contains 55 alien plant species. Every year there are many tourists who decide to spend their holidays in this town...

Post 1: A country you would like to visit

Imagen
Hi there! Here I’m back giving all everything the best of me in this post. On this occasion, I’ll talk about a country that I would like to visit...is one of the biggest attractions in Europe... Italy “the country of the boot”. Every city in Italy offers a particular beauty that is interesting to explore. My favorite city Italian is Venice. Venice “the City of Canals” is one of the most romantic and picturesque cities that you will ever encounter. My dream is to ride around the city on a gondola, enjoying a beautiful sunset. Since I was a child, I’ve wanted to go to see those beautiful landscapes, but I’ve never had the opportunity. Someday, I hope to be able to go and live there.   In Argentina, I met many Italians that is how my passion for those beautiful lands was born. I can speak Italian, did you know? I learned watching a lot of Italian movies. I can't wait to speak Italian, to enjoy the typical Italian gastronomy and eat all types of spaghetti...

Blog 6 - A Career-Related Expert

Friedrich Fröbel was a German educator, and inventor of the “kindergarden” concept.  He was a Pestalozzi student who laid the foundation for a modern education based on the recognition that children have unique needs and abilities. He also developed the educational toys known as "Fröbelgaben"(the Froebel Gifts).  Besides, he made the first construction set system for children. In addition, he introduced the concept of “Freiarbeiten” (free work) in pedagogy.  Friedrich Fröbel taught to recognise the importance of activity in child's learning. He worked to improve the quality of early childhood education. Froebel said:  "Children are like little flowers: they are diverse and need care, but each one is also beautiful in solitude and glorious when seen in community with their peers." I like this phrase because each child is different and as educators, we must always keep it in mind, so that children learn at their   their own needs. Okay, that's it for to...
